How to burn

There is a candle burning methodology we encourage you to follow assuring you receive maximum enjoyment from your Soular Therapy candle lasting 50-70 glorious hours.

Burning: Each time you light your candle you should not extinguish it until the wax completely liquefies from edge to edge of the glass. (45-60 min.) This will assure the candle burns evenly and straight down without wax buildup on the glass. We suggest burning your Soular Therapy candle for no more than 2-3 hours at a time. Once extinguished, the liquefied wax will continue to release fragrance while saving burn time.

Tunneling: When wax is level in the glass, air circulates and provides adequate oxygen the flame needs to melt the wax. If a ring of wax builds up on the sides of the glass, oxygen is not available to produce a flame hot enough to melt the surrounding wax. Little oxygen creates a little flame that tunnels down the center of the candle eventually snuffing itself out. This only occurs when a candle is not allowed to completely liquefy from edge to edge each time it is lit. Build up can be removed by spooning out excess wax until the wax is level, like when new. This should only be done when the candle is unlit and the wax is cold and solid.

Trimming the wick: Soular Therapy candles are made with lead-free, cotton wicks specifically designed for soy wax. By nature these wicks break easily and should be carefully trimmed with a small pair of scissors. The length of the wick is important and determines the size of the flame when the candle is lit. The longer the wick the larger the flame. The wick should be between 1/4" to 5/8" in height and usually needs to be trimmed before each lighting. DO NOT trim wick before the first lighting. Wick trimming should be done once a "cap" of ash forms on top and only when the candle is unlit and the wax is cold and solid.
